Merry Christmas
This is the season when for hundreds of years, Christians around the world have wished others “A Merry Christmas”. Well, they did not really say that but instead uttered words with this meaning in their native languages, such as Joyeux Noel (in France), Bueno Feste Natalizie (in Italy), Feliz Navidad (in Spain), Froehliche Weihnachten (in Germany), God Jul (in Norway), Glaedelig Jul (in Denmark) and Zalig Kerstfeest (in Holland), to name just a few among the many languages on this planet. But even in Hebrew, when you say ‘Mo’adim Lesimkha’ or in Arabic, saying ‘Idah Saidan Wa Sanah Jadidah’ you are wishing others a Merry Christmas. Uncounted numbers of songs during this season have the words ‘Merry Christmas’ in their titles or in the text of those songs.
But those two words were replaced some years ago with ‘Seasons Greetings’; apparently Merry Christmas was not inclusive enough and could possibly offend non-Christians and especially atheists etc. And the people in this country mostly accepted that and went along with it. Then more recently, the politically correct crowd introduced the neutral ‘Happy Holidays’ as substitute for the previous two greetings. Once again, the people in general complied with it; they went along in that they believed that it would not offend anybody, pure and simple. However, merchants and stores in particular would continue to advertise Christmas sales, specials and gift items in general. The political correctness crowd did not like that and decided to confront the storeowners to change those words and substitute them with ‘
We here at this site are Christians and with all due respect consider this to be wrong. We have and always will accept ‘majority rule’ in other areas, be it government, politics or sports. We resent however, when we are being told that it is intolerant when we insist on saying Merry Christmas to others. Looking at this country’s demographics, there are approximately eighty percent Christians, a very vast majority. And not that we should have to remind anybody, Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ on this very special holiday called Christmas. And common sense should simply forbid anybody to have us change our customs including how we wish others a very special Christmas every year. If we can tolerate other religious celebrations, is it too much to ask of this minority to tolerate our religious celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ? We think not and should not be afraid to openly say so!
We also firmly believe that most members of these minorities do not object to our special religious holiday and in their hearts truly do not have a problem with it. It is the PC (Political Correctness) police that injects itself here and attempts to force their secular beliefs on us. And we should NOT allow them to do that. Instead, we should confront them and tell them to lay off!
In this spirit, we wish everybody who has visited our site in the past or continues to visit us here in the future, for that matter, all Christians around the world
