Happy New Year 2010 – A Year of True Change
It is customary to start a new year with good intentions, hope for the better and listing some New Year’s resolutions that we desire to achieve or hope for in the coming twelve months. It has been done for the ages and it ought to be continued. As we wrapped up the previous year and possibly found some time for reflection, one should also think of the immediate future and re-energize one’s resolve to be better and do better – at least, that should be the intent for most of us and hopefully these intentions are strong enough to carry us into the coming months and throughout the entire year. As a result, we have come up with a ten-point wish list for 2010.
We wish that…
- Our elected officials/politicians in Washington D.C. and in the 50 States get infected with a genuine dose of real COMMON SENSE and will base all future decisions on non-political considerations;
- President Obama and his administration acknowledge that America is in a WAR on TERROR and act accordingly instead of treating terrorist acts as ‘Human caused disasters’ and mere criminality;
- President Obama finally gets off the 2008 campaign trail and do two things: Act like a President, take full charge of his office and stop blaming all things going wrong on his predecessor, we are tired of it;
- We are killing POLITICAL CORRECTNESS in all actions connected with National Security and the Safety of the American people. That includes the United States Military! It has no place there;
- The pending HEALTH CARE REFORM legislation in its current composition will DIE in negotiations between the House and the Senate in Congress and that they will wait a while and start all over in a bi-partisan way;
- Congress does not even bother to further pursue any ‘CAP and TRADE’ legislation as it should be clear to them that this is in the current economic climate a jobs killer, not to mention the ever increasing doubts about ‘Global Warming‘;
- The President and Congress recognize that you do not create jobs by higher taxes and spending more money on short-term fix stimulus legislation. Instead, they should do what has been proven successful time and again by lowering taxes and a reduction in Government regulations (and intrusions) to job creators: i.e., the SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS and CORPORATIONS in America;
- CAPITALISM will be recognized for what it is: A good thing for America and that Democrat politicians embrace it instead of demonizing it; it has worked very well for America for centuries;
- The entire media in America returns to their original role in society: Reporting the news factually without commentary, distortions and personal/political slant;
- Everybody stops playing the “RACE CARD” and other tools that divide us as a people in America!
